Why did I decide to write up something about this Stockholm-based indie-pop quartet, and their new single off of Rama Lama Records? Well, for starters, I think it’s awesome that there are people around the world who think like I do about Steve Buscemi’s eyes. I feel at the same time liberated and validated. If you don’t think his eyes are a worldwide pop culture phenomenon, then just do a quick Google search. You don’t know what you’ve been missing.
The song is also a departure from the normally sweet pop sound, driving more towards sorrowful and constrained vocals of lead singer, Tilde Hansen, to be paired with the ballad-like, but with a slightly harder edge, percussion and guitar work. Sweden has been consistently putting the world on notice regarding the future of indie pop, and we can only hope to see more from these beloved Steve Buscemians.
